Aberdeen is Scotland's third most populous city and the United Kingdom's 37th most populous area. The city has several nicknames, such as Granite City, Grey City and Silver City with the Golden Sands. In the 1970s the discovery of North Sea Oil generated another nickname which is the Oil Capital of Europe or the Energy Capital of Europe. Aberdeen has a sandy coastline and a marine climate. Alesund, Norway
Alesund is a coastal town, a fishing and trading center. One of the city's landmarks is the marble church of Giske-one of the oldest examples of the spread of Christianity in Norway. Alesund was completely destroyed by fire in 1904 and was totaly rebuilded according to the Art Nouveau style.
