Alta, Norway

Alesund, Norway

Alesund is a coastal town, a fishing and trading center. One of the city's landmarks is the marble church of Giske-one of the oldest examples of the spread of Christianity in Norway. Alesund was completely destroyed by fire in 1904 and was totaly rebuilded according to the Art Nouveau style. Nowadays Alesund has a unique atmosphere with incredible décors, colorful facades and the turrets that look like it sprang from a medieval fairytale.

Brussels (Zeebrugge)

Bruges is the capital of the Flemish area in Belgium. Due to the physical connection to the sea, became a commercial center for European trade on early medieval times and the harbor was filled with goods, even from the Mediterranean countries. Bruges became soon a very wealthy city and a global banking market in those years. At the Historical Center, which is a World Cultural Heritage of Unesco, visitors will see majestic temples of 15th and 16th centuries, mainly of Gothic style. In the main square of Bruges, the Markt, which is filled with quaint cafes and restaurants,dominate two main attractions, the Old Government House and the Steeple-Castle of Belfort.

Harstad, Norway

Harstad is a municipality in Troms, Norway. It is mostly located on the northeastern part of Hinnoya Island, which is Norway’s largest coastal island. The city itself is located on the northeastern part of on Hinnoya. Ιt is the only city on the island, and is popularly known as Vagsfjordens perle (The pearl of Vagsfjorden). Despite being located north of the Arctic Circle, Harstad features a sub-polar oceanic climate with relatively mild winters and cool summers. The city enjoys the midnight sun during the summer months, from 22 May to 18 July. There is also a period from early May to early August with twilight for a few hours each night as the sun just dips below the horizon, so there is no darkness. The polar night, when the sun is always below the horizon, lasts from 30 November to 12 January. 

Honningsvag, Norway

Honningsvag is the northernmost city in Europe. It is the largest and busiest port of call in Northern Europe, during summer season, as it is the gateway to the North Cape. Due to the Gulf Stream the climate is subarctic and the ice-free ocean provides rich fisheries since praehistoric times. The landscape of the area is of extraordinary beauty and the phenomenon of the Midnight Sun provides an unforgetable experience.

Ijmuiden also has a wonderful and quiet beach, since there are not many cars in this town.

Kirkwall, United Kingdom

Kirkwall is the capital and administrative center of Orkney. It was founded around 1035 by the Vikings and the original city is one of the best preserved examples of an ancient Norwegian town. Its name comes from the old Norwegian dialect which means "church-Bay" and refers to a very old church.Explore the main street, visit the shops with the unique handicrafts and the cozy cafe.

Lerwick/Shetland, United Kingdom

Bodo, Norway

Bodo is the largest town in Norland county, Norway. It is an ideal place for kayaking and fishing into the tidal current of Saltstraumen. It hosts several art exhibitions and music events, like the popular music festival "Parkenfestivalen".

Regarded as the Norwegian center of education, technical and medical research with educational institutions Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and SINTEF located in the city.
