It runs along the isthmus of Suez, from north to south, connecting Mediterranean Sea and Red Sea. Through Suez Canal transportation between Europe and Asia is allowed without navigating around Africa.

Suez (Sokhna), Egypt

Ain Sokhna is a town in Egypt lying on the western shore of Red Sea. Its economy is based especially on tourism. It is a picturesque resort near Cairo. The Egyptian Museum is rich of antiquities. Monuments all over the city indicate the wealth of the egyptian heritage. Mosques and the famous Citadel of Saladin are very popular. Do not forget to visit the enormous bazaar of Khan al-Khalili which has been there for centuries and where you can enjoy shopping and get in touch with the locals.
