Belfast (Northern Ireland), United Kingdom

Belfast is the largest city in Northern Ireland, situated at the mouth of the River Lagan and is surrounded by mountains. Belfast had been and remains the industrial and financial center of Northern Ireland, with a high level in fields such as the arts, higher education and business. It is a green city with many Parks and Gardens. Don't miss the top city's attraction, the Belfast Zoo, with animals in danger in their natural environment.

Dun Laoghaire, Ireland

Dun Laoghaire is a town on the east coast of Ireland, about s11km south of the capital Dublin. Iis a splendid harbour and the town is surrounded by spectacular rolling hills. Its easy access to Dublin city and transport links nationwide makes it an ideal place to begin or end your journey through the Emerald Isle. Dun Laoghaire has always been a 'Gateway to Ireland' and gets its name from the Irish translation Fort (Dun) of Laoghaire. It was once the seat of King Laoghaire, the ancient High King of Ireland before the Vikings sailed from Scandinavia and established themselves in Dublin.

Eskifjordur, Iceland

Eskifjordur is a town and port in eastern Iceland with a large fishing industry. A sculpture by Ragnar Kjartansson is located along the main road in Eskifjordur, commemorating the mariners who drowned at sea. Also, the mountain Hólmatindur is considered by the locals to be one of the most naturally beautiful in the area.

Torshavn, Faroe Islands

Faeroes that  means Sheep Islands is a cluster of 18 islands (17 habitable), which are the  homonymous archipelago in the North Atlantic Ocean between Scotland, Norway and Iceland. Tórshavn is a small city of approximately 20,000 residents that becomes "alive" every year during the summer when visitors from every corner of Europe and beyond come to visit. Descendants of the Vikings firstly inhabited the islands around the 9th century, the inhabitants of the islands as well as the Icelanders are their descendants. Visit The Tinganes, the oldest part of town with small wooden houses and roofs covered with grass. The oldest of these is about 500 year old . Its worth visiting the Tórshavn Cathedral, Tórshavn harbor, the Listasavn Føroya Museum of Art  and the Nordic House  the most important cultural center of the Faroes.

 

Holyhead (Wales)

The town centre offers a number of good places to eat a theatre and a cinema.There are a range of places for the visitor to stay and Holyhead is often used as an overnight stop on the way to,or from,holidaying in Ireland as a centre for touring the island of Anglesey itself.Around Holyhead there is excellent fishing,golfing and of course sailing facilities.Couple this with the wonderful scenery walks and beaches and you can easily lose yourself and relax for a few days.

Douglas, Isle of Man, United Kingdom

Douglas is the capital town of the Isle of Man, situated in the British Isles. The estuary of the River Douglas covers the commercial port of the town, while the Douglas Bay offers superb view to visitors. The best places to visit considered to be some of the following:

i) the Tower of Refuge, a small castle built in Douglas Bay as a haven to shipwrecked sailors,
ii) the Peel Castle, located on St. Patrick's Isle,
iii) the Manx Museum, that also contains the National Art Collection,
iv) the Jubilee clock, built in 1887.

Douglas also hosts the annual Isle of Man TT motorcycle races.

 

Kirkwall, United Kingdom

Kirkwall is the capital and administrative center of Orkney. It was founded around 1035 by the Vikings and the original city is one of the best preserved examples of an ancient Norwegian town. Its name comes from the old Norwegian dialect which means "church-Bay" and refers to a very old church.Explore the main street, visit the shops with the unique handicrafts and the cozy cafe.

Klaksvik, Faroe islands

Klaksvík is the second largest town of the Faroe Islands.The first settlement at Klaksvík dates back to Viking times, but it was not before the 20th century that the district merged to form a large, modern Faroese town that became the cultural and commercial centre for the Northern Isles and the Faroe Islands as a whole.Klaksvík is physically linked with the mainland of the Faroe Islands and can now be considered one of its key ports. It is home to Summarfestivalurin, the largest music festival in the Faroe Islands.The town offers the tourists to do multiple activities such as historic sightseeing tours of Klaksvík, diving expeditions as the sea around the Faroe Islands is said to be one of the cleanest in the world, sea angling and perhaps a boat trip to the one of the world’s highest headlands. 

Paris (Le Havre), France

At the mouth of the river Seine you will find Le Havre, a French port that will amaze you once you set your foot in it. It is said that from here one can listen Paris and see the coast of Normandy.

Reykjavik, Iceland
