This arid, volcanic rock is home to a special combination of iguanas, night-blooming cactus and magnificent beaches with white sand. Scuba diving and sailing are very popular here. The unique Caribbean island, St. Maarten, is governed by two independent states, and although each half of the island is different, the residents live in harmony.
